Elf on the Shelf camera: catch your elf moving at night
Every morning in December the elf is somewhere new, and every morning the kids ask how. Upload a photo of your room and get a camera shot of a little elf caught in the act: climbing the tree, raiding the cookie jar, or peeking out of a cupboard.
Your first photo is free.

Why kids love catching the elf
The elf's magic is that it only moves when nobody is watching. A camera that caught it anyway is the best proof there is.
It also saves you on the nights you run out of ideas: a new photo of the elf's mischief is a new morning surprise.
Ideas for the 24 nights
Use a different room each night: the tree, the kitchen, the bathroom sink, the bookshelf. The elf picks a bit of mischief that fits the room.
Switch camera styles too. Night vision looks like real footage, Doorbell cam works for the front hall, and Phone snapshot looks like you nearly caught it yourself.
How to make it
1. Upload a photo of the room and choose Elf.
2. Pick a camera style and check the result.
3. Turn it into a five second video of the elf moving.
A note on the elf
Our elf is our own little character. CaughtTheMagic is not affiliated with The Elf on the Shelf® or its owners, but it works with whatever elf tradition your family has.
Questions parents ask
Does it use my own elf doll?
No. We add our own little elf to your room photo, so it works even if your elf is put away.
Can I make one for every night of December?
Yes. Each photo uses 1 credit, so the 30 credit pack covers all 24 nights with some left for videos.
Is it safe to upload photos of my home?
Only upload photos of a room, with no people in them. Room photos are deleted after 30 days.
How much does it cost?
Your first photo is free when you sign up. After that, packs start at $4.99 for 5 credits. A photo uses 1 credit and a video 4.
